Head of Clients Services, Egypt Examinations - British Council Egypt

To plan and implement a strategy that delivers an outstanding entry, results and teacher training service to all Egyptian schools which adopt Cambridge or Edexcel Examinations.

To create value for the Egyptian Ministries of Education / Higher Education and UK Boards by implementing a robust quality assurance and inspection regime for School Exams, thereby assuring the continuation and strengthening of the Protocol which allows us to exclusively administer UK School Exams.

To increase the number of schools licensed to deliver CIE and Edexcel syllabuses and to strengthen relationships with all licensed schools in order to maximize candidature. To increase the number of partner higher education institutions and other education and training providers that recognize and / or deliver UK Qualifications, including IELTS, Aptis and Professional Examinations.

Accountabilities, responsibilities and main duties

Management of School Exams Client Services

•Manage the Schools Exams Manager and their team, and collaborate very closely with the Head of Operations to deliver a first class entries, results, exam day, training and inspection service

•Work with the Head of Marketing to conduct research to understand, document and act on the needs of all stakeholders: candidates, parents, school coordinators, teachers, school managers and school owners

Teacher Development and Professional Networks for Teachers

•Produce and deliver an annual training plan for UK Qualifications teachers in cooperation with CIE and Edexcel

•Launch and develop a professional network for teachers of IG and A levels in Egypt

•Contribute to Regional and Global initiatives aimed at adding value to schools, parents and candidates, ensuring they are adapted and effectively delivered in Egypt.

Quality Assurance of the School Exams System

•Liaise with UK Exam Boards, Egyptian Ministries and Schools to ensure that the expectations of the inspection programme are understood and signed off by all parties involved in the protocol.

•Through outsourcing to a competent agency or directly recruiting and managing professionally qualified inspectors, to meet or exceed these expectations by delivering an enhanced inspections programme.



Business Development of the schools sector

•Plan and deliver a strategy to grow the number of schools gaining IGCSE licenses

•Devise and deliver a sales plan to increase the percentage of pupils within each school choosing CIE and Edexcel, as opposed to competitor certificates

•Plan and deliver a growth strategy for Checkpoint and Cambridge Primary

•Plan and deliver a growth strategy for IELTS and Aptis within schools



Management of compliance

•reconciliations completed accurately and on time

•invoices checked accurately and processed on time

•entries and results processed in accordance with UK Board standards

•contribute to resilience of Egypt Exams compliance systems and processes by covering and deputising as necessary



Growing recognition, exam delivery partnerships and integrated exam-training packages

•Work closely with the Head of ESBU Marketing to produce a strategic plan for the growth of recognition/ adoption of IELTS, Aptis and UK Qualifications by government, employers, universities colleges and schools

•Maintain a contact database and build relationships with key external contacts at a senior level in support of the plan

•Negotiate partnership agreements with Egyptian universities in collaboration with the IELTS, Aptis and Professional Exams teams

•Build the number of IELTS preparation courses delivered in Egypt in collaboration with the EES team and the IELTS team

•Working with colleagues in ESBU to integrate online and offline preparation with Aptis, and IELTS to ensure an end to end customer experience
